Jiangsu: VOCs exhaust emission limit is strict 50%
Recently, Jiangyin ecological environment issued "enterprise organic exhaust emissions since July 1 has been implemented more stringent Jiangsu landmark" notice. As of July 1, 2022, in addition to the industry standard, the total non-methane hydrocarbon (NMHC) organized emission limit for new and existing enterprises will be implemented at 60mg/m³, which is 50% stricter than the previous limit of 120 mg/m³. Why? As follows:
Changes in

Organized emissions of particulate matter, nitrogen oxide, sulfur dioxide, benzene, toluene and other factors have been increased. For details, please click: Jiangsu landmark "Comprehensive Emission Standard for Air Pollutants" released!
For those with industry standards or stricter standards, the corresponding emission standards shall be implemented. For example, spray painting enterprises implement Jiangsu industry standard "Surface coating (construction machinery and steel structure industry) air pollutant Emission Standard" (DB 32/4147-2021) non-methane total hydrocarbon (NMHC) 50 mg/m³ emission limit.

What do companies need to do about tougher standards?
I. Renewal of pollutant discharge permit. The enterprise shall, in accordance with the standard requirements, timely change the emission permit or the emission registration information and adjust the limit requirements. In addition, third party monitoring units can be entrusted to monitor their own organized and unorganized emissions to understand their own emissions.
2. Carry out benchmarking upgrading. According to the new standards, enterprises that cannot meet the emission standards stably need to carry out technical transformation in time; If there is no way to complete the transformation in time, it should be reported to the local environmental protection department and the time to complete the transformation should be specified.
3. strengthen the operation and maintenance management of facilities. Special personnel are responsible for strengthening the operation and management of all kinds of waste gas treatment facilities, and carrying out regular maintenance to ensure stable emission standards.
