LH-VOC-RCO

By adding catalysts to the regenerative heat storage (RTO) regenerative heat storage tank, a catalytic oxidation furnace is created. Under the catalyst's influence, the VOCs-containing exhaust gas is completely oxidized at a lower temperature, breaking down into CO2 and water vapor, thus reducing the consumption of required fuel. Compared to RTO, this type of oxidation furnace further enhances energy efficiency through its regenerative heat storage capabilities.

Operational Principle

The RCO furnace consists of a heat storage tank and an oxidation tank. The heat storage tank is filled with high-temperature resistant ceramic, which can store the energy released from cooling high-temperature flue gas, used to preheat the incoming exhaust gas. The VOCs-containing exhaust gas is gradually heated as it moves from the heat storage tank to the oxidation tank. A catalyst is placed on top of the ceramic layer in the heat storage tank. Under its catalytic action, the exhaust gas is decomposed into CO2 and H2O in the oxidation tank, releasing a significant amount of heat energy. The purified high-temperature flue gas, after passing through the heat storage tank on the other side, stores the heat in the ceramic layer, which is used to preheat the exhaust gas for the next cycle. Due to the lower temperature of the catalytic oxidation reaction, the combination of the catalyst layer and the ceramic in the RTO significantly reduces the fuel required for the preheating process and the oxidation reaction of the exhaust gas, further reducing carbon emissions and the operating costs of the incinerator.
