Policies And Regulations

China has always attached great importance to addressing climate change, and regards actively responding to climate change as an inherent requirement for achieving its own sustainable development and a responsibility to promote the construction of a community with a shared future for mankind. In order to comprehensively reflect China's policy actions and work in addressing climate change, and to introduce the achievements of China's active response to climate change to domestic and foreign audiences, the Ministry of Ecology and Environment has prepared the "2024 Annual Report on China's Policies and Actions to Address Climate Change" (hereinafter referred to as the "Annual Report"), which was officially released at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's regular press conference on November 6, 2024.

The Annual Report comprehensively introduces the effectiveness of climate change policies, measures, and key work in various fields and departments since 2023, sorts out China's new deployment and requirements for addressing climate change, showcases China's progress in mitigating and adapting to climate change, building a national carbon market, policy system and support guarantees, and actively participating in global governance to address climate change. It also elaborates on China's basic position and propositions on the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
