1What are hidden dangers?

Hidden danger is the abbreviation for safety production accident hidden danger. It refers to the unsafe state of the workplace, equipment and facilities, unsafe behavior of people, and deficiencies in safety management that may lead to accidents due to a high level of safety risk.

It includes three aspects of content:

One is the unsafe state of the place, equipment, and facilities;

The second is human unsafe behavior;

Thirdly, there are deficiencies in management.

There are two types of hidden dangers in power production: general hazards and major hazards:

Major accident hazards refer to accidents that may cause personal death, major or above power grid or equipment accidents, or serious production accidents for important power users due to power supply reasons, which are difficult to rectify or require a long time and significant investment to be managed. The characteristics are potential consequences, high difficulty in rectification, long time, and high investment.

General accident hazards refer to accidents that may cause serious personal injury, power grid and equipment accidents, and can be rectified and eliminated in a relatively short period of time. The characteristics are small consequences, easy rectification, and short time.

The formation and discovery of hidden dangers generally include the following aspects:

One is that major equipment defects have not been dealt with in a timely manner, resulting in hidden dangers;

Secondly, there are many historical debts that pose hidden dangers;

Thirdly, serious inadequate management creates hidden dangers, and long-term habitual violations of rules and regulations by personnel create hidden dangers;

The fourth is to discover hidden dangers through testing, inspection, equipment evaluation and other means. The identified hidden dangers are managed according to the process, which includes discovery, evaluation, listing supervision, deadline rectification, acceptance, and cancellation.

2What is a defect?

Defects refer to all abnormal phenomena that affect the safe operation or health level of the equipment during operation and standby, as well as the corresponding auxiliary equipment. Equipment defects are classified into three categories based on their degree of threat to the safe operation of the power grid and the health status of the equipment: emergency, major, and general. Urgent defects need to be resolved within 24 hours.

Hidden dangers refer to the comprehensive content of production activities, and defects are limited to certain imperfections in equipment and facilities, as well as deficiencies in safety management. Defects will lead to hidden dangers.
